RANDY NEWMAN (for fans of the great american songbook)

When I was kid, my 7th grade gym teacher, Mr. Hanz, asked me why I listened to heavy metal. He thought it was garbage. I told him that I liked the anger and aggression. He then said, "You think that shit is angry? You haven't heard Randy Newman man!" He wasn't off the mark on that one. But Newman's acerbic wit was way too much for a junior high kid to get. I'm 30 now and a fan. I've posted the tear inducing "Same Girl" from his 'Trouble In Paradise' album. I was 8 when it came out.
